Eric Bailly – Manchester United hero
Manchester United are currently playing Sevilla in the Champions League last 16. The Red Devils drew 0-0 away in Spain a couple of weeks ago meaning that United need to win at Old Trafford tonight in order to progress to the quarter finals of the competition.
Conceding goals is not an option for Manchester united tonight and Mourinho’s team is blessed with perhaps the best goalkeeper in the world and Ivorian defender Eric Bailly.
David De Gea usually steals the headlines as Manchester United’s saviour but tonight, Eric Bailly has been the hero.
The 23 year old, who scored an own goal on Saturday during United’s 2-1 win against Liverpool, produced a fantastic slide challenge to deny Sevilla’s Correa from opening the scoring early in the second half. Had Sevilla taken the lead, United would have needed 2 goals in order to progress to the next round.

Bailly sustained an injury during the Manchester derby earlier in the season and was ruled out for a number of months.
It has to be said that when Bailly is in the Manchester United line up, their defence looks a whole lot stronger.
However, Bailly’s presence in the United starting XI means that one of Phil Jones or Chris Smalling will always be on the bench which is hardly ideal for Gareth Southgate and England ahead of the World CUp.
Southgate will want his players playing regular football and Bailly’s terrific form will surely prevent Southgate’s centre backs from playing regular football.
If Bailly can stay fit for the entire campaign next season, United will have a serious chance of winning the league. Their attack may not be anywhere near as good as Manchester City’s but a defence containing De Gea and Bailly is as good as any in the world on their day.
