Manchester United 1-2 Sevilla
The January transfer window saw some huge moves take place but few were bigger than Alexis Sanchez’s transfer from Arsenal to Manchester United.
The Chilean arrived at Old Trafford after 3 and a half years at the Emirates Stadium where he won 2 FA Cups and lit up North London with his brilliant goals, skills and link up play.
However since arriving at United in January, Alexis hasn’t been able to replicate the form that he produced with Arsenal over the last few years.
Alexis has scored just one goal for The Red Devils, a rebounded tap in from a penalty that he had previously missed against Huddersfield at Old Trafford.
The Manchester United fans were clearly expecting more from their marquee signing and new number 7.
On Tuesday night, United crashed out of the Champions League in the last 16. Romelu Lukaku’s late goal was just a consolation as Wissam Ben Yedder netted twice for Sevilla at Old Trafford to see the Spanish side through to the quarter finals.
Twitters reacts to Alexis’ shocking performance
Alexis Sanchez’s best performance with Manchester United was playing the piano. Let that sink in..

Alexis Sanchez has been terrible at United and there’s no sugarcoating. You still think he’ll adapt, right? He’s 29.

Has Alexis Sanchez’ passing always been this dodgy and being surrounded by the rest of the Arsenal team just made it look less bad?

Henrikh Mkhitaryan>Alexis Sanchez
Mkhitaryan arrived at the Emirates Stadium as part of the swap deal that took Alexis to Manchester. In his short time in North London so far, Mkhitaryan has already registered 6 assists, the same total that he managed in his whole career at Old Trafford.
Mkhitaryan has also scored twice for Arsenal including a vital goal at the San Siro in the Europa League which helped Arsenal to a 2-0 win over AC Milan.
Overall, it looks like Arsenal may have got the better end of the deal.
